A woman's life is dominated by the search for something: identity, acceptance, recognition, equal rights, meaning and happiness. There always seem to be obstacles in her way, real or imaginary. They interfere with her goals and restrain her from being successful. How to overcome difficulties and cope with life? Wish for serenity to accept the things you cannot change, have the courage to change the things you can, and have the wisdom to know the difference.
Venetian Rhapsody
Venice is one of the most picturesque cities with its winding canals, striking architecture, and beautiful bridges. But the effects of climate change, pollution and over-tourism are obvious. How to visualize beauty and decay at the same time? I have choosen some of my images I took during a visit of the city, had them printed and poured over some regular houshold bleach. The outcome of bleaching depends on the quality of the photo paper and in my case the bleached areas turned soft pink. The results radiate, poetic paintings alike, their own charm: enchanting but melancholic.
